Charles the Goblin

Style

I’m often asked why I dress the way I do, favoring late Regency to early Victorian fashion in a world of tee shirts and sneakers. I usually smile and say, “I got tired of replacing my entire wardrobe every fifty years just to keep up with fashion.” That answer tends to satisfy.

But the truth runs deeper.

Style is a matter of personal taste. If you feel your best in jeans and a band tee, then by all means, more power to you. But I feel most myself in linen, velvet, and brocade. In ruffles and long coats, feathers and hatpins. What I wear isn’t costume, it’s conviction.

This is where fashion meets folklore.
