About
Charles the Goblin (dot com) is exactly what it says on the tin: Charles is a goblin with a website.
This is not a business, a company, a storefront, or an investment opportunity, no matter what assorted scammers, databases, and automated systems may decide. It is my personal corner of the internet: part introduction, part workshop, part archive, and part open door into the strange little world I have built around myself.
I am Charles Winthrop the Third—goblin, storyteller, broadcaster, maker, collector of peculiar objects, and co-owner of OtherWorlds TV. I write books, build websites and television channels, make jewelry and other oddities, dress exactly as I please, and generally believe that life becomes much more interesting once you stop asking permission to be yourself.
This site exists to gather those pieces in one place. Here you will find my creative work, current projects, photographs, opinions, occasional adventures, and whatever new skill or improbable undertaking has captured my attention lately.
I do not regard “goblin” as a costume, brand, or marketing exercise. It is simply what I am. The ears, blue feet, long coats, and other outward details are expressions of that—not an invitation to debate my existence or explain me back to myself.
My worldview is fairly simple: the world is stranger, larger, and more wonderful than most people allow it to be. Kindness matters. Imagination matters. Making things matters. People should be free to build lives that are honest and meaningful, even when those lives look unusual from the pavement.
So welcome. Look around, stay awhile, and mind where you step. There are projects everywhere.
